A solenoid valve installed on a pipeline

Preparation before Installing Solenoid Valves

Installation & Precautions

Solenoid valves are essential components in water treatment and other industrial applications. Their reliable operation is crucial for maintaining the overall functionality and production efficiency of systems. Therefore, mastering the correct installation method and precautions of solenoid valves can extend their service life and allow them to fully function, thereby improving industrial automation level.

Installation and Precautions

Check if the solenoid valve is consistent with the selection parameters such as power supply voltage, medium voltage, and pressure difference. If the power supply voltage is selected incorrectly, it may burn the coil. The general power supply voltage should meet the fluctuation range of the rated voltage: AC +10% to -15%, or DC +10% to -10%.

Clean the pipeline before connecting it to the solenoid valve to remove metal powder, residual sealing materials, and rust. If there are impurities such as dust in the medium that hinder the operation of the solenoid valve, a filter should be installed in the pipeline.

For the installation of a general solenoid valve, the electromagnetic coil part should be installed vertically upwards and the valve body should be installed horizontally. Therefore, the solenoid valve should be installed in a pipeline that is horizontal to the ground. If it is necessary to install the solenoid valve on an upright pipeline due to space limitations or working conditions, please inform us in advance when placing the order, otherwise it may cause the solenoid valve to malfunction.

Solenoid valves are generally directional and should not be inverted. Usually, there is an arrow symbol "→" on the valve body to indicate the direction of fluid flow. Therefore, during installation, it should be aligned with the direction indicated by "→". However, it can be installed in reverse in vacuum pipelines or under special circumstances.

Try not to keep the solenoid valve energized for a long time, as this can easily reduce the lifespan of the coil and even burn it (normally open and normally closed solenoid valves cannot be interchanged). Working in a high humidity environment for a long time can also have an impact on the coil's lifespan.
