Proper Maintenance and Care of SEKO Dosing Pumps

Maintenance

SEKO dosing pumps play a critical role in precise chemical dosing in water treatment, chemical, and power industries, making regular maintenance essential. Routine inspection and upkeep can effectively prevent equipment failures caused by wear, clogging, or leakage, ensuring the pump's dosing accuracy and operational stability. Moreover, proper maintenance helps extend the service life of the equipment, reduce maintenance costs, and minimize the risk of unexpected downtime. Standardized maintenance procedures also enable the early detection of potential issues, preventing chemical waste or system contamination, which is vital for maintaining the continuity and safety of production processes.

SEKO dosing pump and accessories

When operating a dosing pump, the connections between the piping and valves should be regularly inspected for any signs of leakage. Valves should be cleaned every three months to prevent blockages; however, the cleaning frequency may be adjusted based on the properties of the chemical being used. For example, if high-crystallization chemicals are used, cleaning should be performed at least once a month. If the dosing pump has not been in operation for an extended period, it should also be thoroughly cleaned before being put back into use.

Dosing Pump Cleaning Procedure:
  1. First, flush the system with clean water for approximately 10 minutes, then run the pump dry for about 5 minutes to ensure all water inside the pipes is discharged before disassembly, reducing potential hazards.
  2. Switch off the dosing pump power supply and remove all valve components. During disassembly, take care to avoid injury or damage from residual chemicals or moisture, which could harm personnel or nearby electrical equipment.
  3. Rinse the valves and internal parts thoroughly with clean water.
  4. Inspect all parts for any signs of damage, deformation, or cracks. Replace them if necessary.
  5. Reassemble all valve components in their original configuration.
  6. Run clean water through the system for 5 minutes to test functionality. If crystallization is observed, use a descaling or crystal-dissolving agent for about 10 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of clean water flushing.
Notes:
  1. When performing cleaning procedures, wear appropriate protective equipment such as goggles and gloves.
  2. All dosing pump valves are made of plastic. Avoid using tools during disassembly and assembly to prevent damage to the parts.
