How to Choose Stainless Steel Membrane Housing Quickly?

Stainless steel membrane housing is mainly used to house membrane elements to effectively prevent membrane leakage. It is widely used in RO (reverse osmosis), NF (nanofiltration) and UF (ultrafiltration) water treatment systems. When choosing stainless steel membrane housing , you may follow the following steps to choose the right stainless steel membrane housing to improve the working efficiency and extend the lifespan of membrane elements.

  1. Stainless Steel Membrane Housing Material
    Stainless steel membrane housings are generally made of SUS304 & SUS316L.
    1. Among various kinds of water sources (distilled water, drinking water, river water, boiler water, etc.), SUS304 and SUS316L have almost the same corrosion resistance;
    2. When the content of chloride in water is very high, SUS316L is preferred.
  2. Method of Water Intake
    1. In the system, if the water enters from both ends of the membrane housing, you may choose stainless steel membrane housings with end port;
    2. In the system, if the water enters from both sides of the membrane housing, you may choose stainless steel membrane housings with side port.
  3. End Cap Seal Type
    1. Clamp type end cap is generally made of ABS or stainless steel and has a maximum working pressure of 300–400 PSI;
    2. Flange type end cap is made of stainless steel and has a maximum working pressure of 600 PSI;
    3. Built-in type end cap is made of stainless steel and has a maximum working pressure of 1000 PSI.
  4. Stainless steel membrane housing diameter. Commonly used stainless steel membrane housing diameters are 8.0", 4.0" and 2.5".
  5. Stainless steel membrane housing length. Commonly used stainless steel membrane housing lengths are 40", 80", and 120". Other sizes are available upon request.
