How to Carry Out Thermoplastic Valve Maintenance and Care

Thermoplastic valves are devices used in fluid systems to control the direction, pressure, and flow rate of fluids. They enable the flow or stoppage of media (liquids, gases, powders) in pipes and equipment, and can control their flow rate. Here are some key points for the maintenance and care of thermoplastic valves, you can perform thermoplastic valve maintenance and care from the following aspects.

Storage and Maintenance:

  • Prevent the valve from being damaged during storage and avoid direct contact with the ground.
  • For valves not in use for a short period, remove the packing to prevent electrochemical corrosion.
  • Seal the valve inlets and outlets with wax paper or plastic film to prevent dirt from entering.
  • Apply rust prevention treatment, such as coating susceptible valves with anti-rust oil.
  • Outdoor valves should be covered with rainproof and dustproof materials, and the warehouse should be kept clean and dry.

Usage and Maintenance:

  • Maintain the valve stem threads, and apply appropriate lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
  • For valves that are not frequently opened or closed, regularly turn the handwheel and add lubricant to prevent seizure.
  • Outdoor valves should have protective covers to prevent damage from rain, snow, dust, and rust.
  • Keep the valve clean and regularly check the integrity of valve components.
  • Do not place other heavy objects on the valve or stand on it.
  • Regularly inspect and clean the valve stem, replace lubricant contaminated by dust.
  • Maintain valves according to a prescribed schedule, including flexible operation and drainage.
  • Maintain the packing, including regularly tightening the packing gland nuts and replenishing the packing.
  • Maintain the transmission parts, and ensure sufficient lubrication to prevent transmission failure.
