Reverse Osmosis Antiscalant Extends the lifespan of reverse osmosis membranes

Reverse osmosis antiscalant, also called reverse osmosis scale inhibitors are divided into acidic reverse osmosis scale inhibitors and alkaline reverse osmosis scale inhibitors.

Acidic reverse osmosis scale inhibitors can control the scaling of CaCO3, CaSO4, SrSO4, BaSO4, CaF2, and SiO2. They are particularly suitable for scaling caused by metal oxides, silicon, carbonates, sulfates, and iron oxide precipitates. They have high scale inhibition efficiency and do not form insoluble polymers with residual coagulants or silicon compounds containing aluminum or iron.

Alkaline reverse osmosis scale inhibitors are widely used in fields such as alkaline water, high-salt water, process water, and drinking water. They have a good scale inhibition effect in seawater desalination by membrane method, and are used to control scale deposition in membrane separation systems and reduce the possibility of membrane surface fouling by particles.

Usage

Dosage point: To achieve maximum efficiency, it is best to add the reverse osmosis scale inhibitor before the mixer or security filter. When preparing the solution, it should be stirred for 5-10 minutes, and the dosing tank should be regularly cleaned to prevent bacterial growth.
Dosage: The required dosage should be determined based on individual device operating conditions. It should be calculated according to the influent salinity, temperature, recovery rate, type of reverse osmosis membrane, and other conditions to determine an appropriate dosage.
- Recommended dosage for PO-100, PO-120, PO-140 is 2 - 6 ppm
- Recommended dosage for PO-220, PO-191 is 2 - 5 ppm
- Recommended dosage for PO-110 is 0.3 - 3 ppm
Dilution: Acidic or alkaline reverse osmosis scale inhibitors can be directly added or diluted for use. Dilution should be done using RO permeate or desalinated water.
- Recommended dilution ratio for PO-100, PO-120, PO-140 is 10 times, and the dilution ratio should not exceed 20 times.
- The recommended dilution ratio for PO-220 and PO-191 is 20 times, and the dilution ratio should not exceed 40 times.
- The recommended dilution ratio for PO-110 is 40 times, and it can also be diluted 8 times and then converted into a standard solution for preparation and use.
