Reverse Osmosis Reductant - Reducing Oxidative Damage to Membranes

PO-400 reverse osmosis reductant is used to remove residual chlorine and chloramines from the feed water of membrane systems. It effectively prevents membrane fouling and blockage, and improves the efficiency and stability of water treatment systems.

When the raw water being treated contains oxidizing biocides, a reductant needs to be added to the raw water. This is because residual chlorine from the oxidizing biocides can oxidize the RO membrane components, thereby shortening the membrane's lifespan. The active ingredients in the reverse osmosis reductant can quickly decompose residual chlorine and protect the membrane from oxidation.

Technical Specifications
  • Appearance: Colorless to pale yellow transparent liquid
  • pH (as is): 4.0–6.0
  • Density (20°C): 1.10 ± 0.05 g/cm3
  • ncompatible substances: Strong oxidizers, strong acids, strong bases
Features
  • Strong reducing agent
  • Rapid reaction with residual chlorine
  • Widely used in membrane systems
  • Chemically stable
Instructions for use
  • Dosage point: To achieve maximum efficiency, PO-400 should be added before the raw water tank
  • Dosage: The dosage depends on the residual chlorine level. Generally, 2 ppm of reductant is required to remove 1 ppm of residual chlorine
  • Dilution: The dilution concentration should not exceed 20%. It should be diluted with RO water or desalinated water. The dilution solution must be used within one week to prevent oxidation and product failure.
  • Note: It is strictly prohibited to add insufficient or interrupt the dosage of the agent due to metering pump failure or other reasons.
