Key Points for the Installation of Metal Tube Float Flowmeters

Installation & Precautions

Proper installation of metal tube float flowmeters is important in ensuring the integrity and stability of its structure, ensuring its normal operation, providing stable fluid flow conditions, and ensuring measurement accuracy. During the installation process, appropriate installation design and implementation can be carried out according to specific application and environmental requirements.

Installation Requirements

  1. Before installation, remove the top rod, packing, and rubber bands used for transportation protection of the flowmeter. Move the float to a certain position and check the operation status of the converter. If any abnormalities are found, adjustments should be made.
  2. The flowmeter should be installed vertically on a non-vibrating pipeline, and the inclination of the measuring tube should be less than 5°. A bypass should be installed for easy maintenance and cleaning without affecting production.
  3. When installing the flowmeter, the liquid level gauge should be calibrated strictly, and no force should be applied during assembly. For vertically installed float flowmeters, the medium flows from bottom to top, and for horizontally installed float flowmeters, the medium flow direction should be consistent with the indicated direction. Valve blocks are generally installed for easy use and disassembly.
  4. The remote transmission part of the teletransmission metal tube float flowmeter is magnetically coupled with the rotor. If the medium contains easily adsorbed magnetic particles, the float is prone to wear and blockage, resulting in inaccurate or impossible measurements. The solution is to install a magnetic filter in front of it.
  5. The flow control valve should be installed downstream of the flowmeter.
