Ultrafiltration Membrane Retains the Original Trace Elements & Minerals in the Water

FUF modules are made with high strength hollow fiber PVDF with 0.03 μm pore size. It offers high tolerance to chemical cleaning. Ultrafiltration (UF) provides excellent retention performance to particles, suspended solids, colloidal material, bacteria and viruses.

PVDF modules are used in a variety of applications including municipal water, drinking water, power plants, petrochemical, reverse osmosis pretreatment for desalination plants and high purity water.

Working Process

In the process of UF membrane filtration, the pressure difference on both sides of the membrane is used as a driving force and UF membrane as the filter media. According to the inlet position and UF membrane structure, it can be divided into inside-out UF membranes and outside-in UF membranes.

Inside-Out UF Membrane

Feed water enters the the hollow fiber membrane from the inlet. Under the action of pressure difference, water and small molecules flow to the surface of the UF membrane through the dense micro pores and become the permeate, and then flows out from the side port of the UF membrane. The substances larger than the micro-pores in the feed water are retained on the surface of the membrane and become concentrate, and then flows out from the other end.

Outside-In UF Membrane

Feed water enters the center tube of the UF membrane module from one end and flows through the surface of the hollow fiber membrane. Under the action of pressure difference, water and small molecules flow to the inside of the UF membrane through the dense micro pores and become the permeate, and then flows out from the other end of the UF membrane. The substances larger than the micro-pores in the feed water are retained on the surface of the membrane and become concentrate, and then flows out from the side port.
